Please give me constructive criticism to make this art I’m making for my brother closer to the original. I’m thinking i need to rework the white closer to that off purple grey, I’m so proud of the face looking part but wish i could edit it further right and fix the “face” shape, the little octagon holes look a tad out of place.

While I’m proud of how close I’ve managed to get the painting my brother can be picky and i want this to be a good gift for him

Thanks y’all please i wont be offended if u point out what i need to fix (and if u can give me tips on how to make that happen thatd be sweet I’ve never had an art class)

And if anyone has tips for making the wispy bits around the figure thatd be cool I’m thinking thin painted line and making it wispy with a (dry or wet??) sponge brush ?

Also I’ve never played the game so please help me brain storm a funny letter to go with the gift!

So after a bit of thinking about this, I wanted to address some of the later critique aimed at this in the past couple weeks (through mostly anons but also replies and hashtags,) because although it hurt my feelings a bit because I’m a sensitive little wampus, I also feel it is correct

Harry is waaaay too “pretty” here.

I think this happened for two reasons.

The first is because I actually do think he’s rather attractive as he is in the game, “expression of pain” and all, but I acknowledge that that’s an, er….let’s be nice and say “unconventional” viewpoint.

The second reason is that a huge reason I did this to begin with was I was wanting to improve my painting skills, and so I was watching a metric fuckton of tutorial and tip videos, and unfortunately, most of those examples use conventionally attractive femme faces as examples.

Anyway, I’ll offer those as excuses, but I also should have considered this more before posting it as finished, and for that, y’all have my apologies. I haven’t posted any art involving Harry since this (but I will!), and I’m hoping I can do better with him on the paintings and drawings I’m currently working on 🤞😤🤞

Disco Elysium is soooo good y'all; I feel like I'll never give it the credit it deserves.

I'm not even sure it's finished, but I'm just going to set this down now, though.

Curiosity goaded me into blindly giving disco elysium a try and unfortunately I am possibly the worst match on earth for these kinds of games and the way information is delivered within them
